ABOUT
Our Purpose
Our membership includes parents from the district, community members, and local business people. We are a diverse group of people who share one goal – to enhance the quality of educational opportunities in District 114!
How Does the Foundation Raise Money?
We are able to raise approximately 90% of our funds through the sale of ad space in our school calendar to area businesses. This project raises funds to purchase materials and tools for our schools without additional fundraising from the families in our district. This is a tremendous resource for our schools! Currently, our other fundraisers are the pre-packaged school supply kits and the memorial name plaques hanging in each school.
What Do We Do With Our Money?
The Foundation uses our funds to provide a variety of materials and projects that enhance the educational experience of the students in District 114. Has your child brought home a ceramic project from Anna McDonald? It was made in a kiln the Foundation purchased for the Art Department! Has your child used the Study Island Software at the Junior High to reinforce the curriculum in their classroom? This subscription was also purchased by the Foundation. Some of the many other resources we have been able to provide for our district in the past years include:

Junior High Scorer’s Table
Leveled-Reader Resource Library
$10,000 Grant for Jr. High Library Books
Physical Education Equipment
Math & Literacy Center Materials
Library Media Center Materials
Supplemental Curriculum Resources
The Foundation generally meets the third Thursday of each month, at 6 PM, in the Junior High Library, except when school is not in session. Please refer to the school calendar for a complete meeting schedule.

2020-2021 SCHOOL CALENDAR
The Foundation is offering your business an opportunity to join our efforts by placing an ad in our annual fundraising calendar. This calendar is distributed to each of the 800 families in the Manhattan School District free of charge. This will guarantee your business name will be prominently displayed before all 800 families in the district all year long and demonstrates your support for education in our community!
